Chris Kabel was born on november 2nd 1975 in Haarlem, the Netherlands.

After a bliss- and joyfull youth in the Dutch Mountains he chose to study design in the industrial city of Eindhoven. He graduated in june 2001.

Both his graduation projects are now in production. Sticky Lamp is in the permanent collection of Droog design, it has been on display in Hotel Droog in Milan in april 2002. His ADDFUNCT glasses are going to be produced and distributed by Mobach. They will be for sale pretty soon.

At the moment he is working from his studio in Rotterdam. His gascandle will be produced and distributed by Moooi It will be on display both at the Moooi stand and at the Puffin Club in the fair in Milan this april. Also 1totree, a modular lamp that is extendable from a single lamp to a chandelier will be on display at the Stedelijk Museum/ Philips Dutch Light exhibition in Milan.
