Van
Cleef & Arpels Paris by Patrick Jouin
22 Place Vendôme, Paris. Visitors to the legendary address will
discover new salons in a refined palette of cream and beige, where fantasy
and natural motifs combine with classic French elegance in a unique, very
Van Cleef & Arpels atmosphere. Sculpted paneling plays with the 18th
century style, a wall gently curves around a subtle frieze, light is captured
within a sparkling chandelier and a rainbow of colors is set in dramatic
displays.
The entire redesign of the Maison's historical and founding salons was
entrusted to the young designer Patrick Jouin - resulting
in a vast space that provides the perfect setting for Van Cleef &
Arpels'contemporary creations yet remains true to the classic architecture
of the historic Place Vendôme.
An exceptional address
Van Cleef & Arpels designed its new showrooms at 22 Place Vendôme
with three guiding principles in mind: to celebrate the beauty of the
Place Vendôme, symbol of French good taste; to create an atmosphere
that is both refined and exclusive; and to offer a welcoming environment.
Now with 58 boutiques throughout the world, Van Cleef & Arpels wanted
the interior of its historic boutique in Paris to honor its unique setting
-- the Place Vendôme. Like the Van Cleef & Arpels boutique in
New York City - on Fifth Avenue, one of the most prestigious streets in
the world - the Paris boutique's location has always been associated with
exceptional style.
Most importantly, 22 Place Vendôme is the birthplace of Van Cleef
& Arpels. When the original salon was opened here on June 16, 1906,
by the House's founders -- Alfred Van Cleef, Estelle Arpels and her brother
Charles - the Van Cleef & Arpels spirit was born: the desire to offer
only the best and most surprising, always with elegance and panache.
it's no accident that the House's workshop or 'Atelier' has been located
here in the same building since 1933; technological advancement, for Van
Cleef & Arpels, is meaningless unless it serves a distinct esthetic.
The Serpent chain, the Zip necklace, between-the-fingers rings and the
incomparable Mystery Setting technique all reflect Van Cleef & Arpels'
commitment to sophisticated techniques put to the service of beauty and
a unique style.
